Sega's survival horror game Alien: Isolation will be released on October 7, 2014, just in time for Halloween. The game will debut on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
“We couldn't be happier to finally announce a date for Alien: Isolation,” Alistair Hope, Creative Lead at Creative Assembly said. “The reaction we have seen so far has been simply incredible, from the screams and shrieks to the cold sweats and racing hearts. It's the Alien game that we've always wanted to play and we can't wait to let everyone get their hands on it this fall.”
We recently had the chance to check the game out at GDC, and were encouraged by what we saw. Following the disastrous release of Aliens: Colonial Marines, the property is taking a back-to-basics approach. Rather than holding off hundreds of angry Xenomorphs, armed with the best in future warfare, you are unarmed and being stalked by a single creature hunting you. In that it sticks closer to Ridley Scott's 1979 Alien film than James Cameron's 1986 Aliens, which arguably lends itself more easily to a video game adaptation.
